Who Are You Really? Are You Really Who You Are?
Author: Lynn Gagliardi
Who are you really? Are you really who you are?
I ask these questions because as a personal and lifestyle coach, I find more people who don’t know these answers, than those that do. I’d like to inspire more to search for these resolutions because the people who are the happiest seem to have this one licked. I’m sure you’re wondering why this is so important to me. The happier people are about themselves and their careers, the happier the world will be. I know that sounds conventional and simple and indeed it is. However, why is it not happening? I know that I feel uplifted, inspired and joyful when I’m around happy people. Don’t you? If I could inspire one person in be happier than they were before, then that’s one more person to inspire others.
I want to share a little of my experience in regard to these questions of self- discovery. Maybe you’ll relate to it somehow, maybe it will arouse some juices to start flowing or maybe it will reinforce that you already have your answers and are living your dream.
I’ve always been somewhat of an altruist, who sincerely listened and cared deeply for people’s thoughts and feelings. I loved and still do love to watch and feel the changes in their tone, the softness begin to enter their voice, their body starting to relax and their overall sense of well being shift, as they are heard, validated, endorsed and empowered by someone who truly cares. This has always been my passion, helping people, in the most natural, innate sense of myself. People are drawn to someone they feel heard and intently listened by. The only frustration I encountered was that my passion was a hobby. I patiently waited for the spiritual timing to present the career of my dreams and I found it in coaching. I love what I do and I do what I love. I hope everyone can experience that blessing.
I share these words to encourage, uplift and let all women know that they can and deserve to have passion in their careers. I’ve done it and have watched my clients make huge changes in their lives to accommodate and serve themselves. The liberation and sense of calm that comes with doing what you love while being who you are, is the purest form of self-love anyone could receive. It is truly a leap of faith, an undeniable trust, and a willingness to honor yourself. My entrance into personal coaching has yielded miracle after miracle. What I find even more miraculous is that it requires very little effort. Imagine making your hobby your career. It sure doesn’t get any better than that.
I feel strongly that all people can have wonderful careers that incorporate “who they really are”. The underlying reason for writing this article is to inspire and encourage you to unleash your passion. Everyone has a gift they can offer the world. Some know their gift and need a support system to provide nurturing. Some don’t have a sense of their gift, and yet an objective partner can help recover it from their unconscious minds.
Start by taking a walk, or a bath, or be in nature or even just a quiet place. Take a couple of deep, relaxing breaths and ask yourself…”who am I really”? “Am I really who I am”? The answers may not come to you right away, but if you’re patient, ask yourself often, and really want to know, then indeed your answers will come. That’s when the fun begins!!
I offer you courage and wisdom in asking, “who am I really” and peace and love in intuitively knowing your true essence, which is “who you really are”.
