Moved from Ordinary Position to Extraordinary Position

It seemed like an ordinary day. Yet it would go from ordinary to questionable. Why Questionable?
Well I get to my job and I discover my position will end. Thankfully they offer me a few other positions. Seeing that my seniority was low, my options where also low.

Now the questioning began. Which position would I pick? Would I perform best in position A / B or C. With time came more questions. Obviously I needed to pick one. So rather than spending to much time thinking about it - I picked a position.

Very soon the day came and I was working at the new assignment. At first it was great. Most things are at first. My new job involved using a special dolly to hauling bath tubs to staging areas. It involved a lot of walking. I walked so much that I started to develop blisters on my feet. What started out as a questionable position turned quickly into a nightmare position.

I instantly started to rethink my decision. My decision could not be undone. I had to like it or lump it. Or to put it another way- "Like it or quit."

Quitting was not a desirable option seeing that I had bills to pay. So what did I do? Well, in my time off from work, I'd race to the library and research a new field to work in.

I spent many hours diving into career books and books that gave detailed explanations of careers. After doing all that I decided to go into the Heating and Cooling Field. So I quit my Ordinary Job to pursue my Dream Job.

During my first year in tech school I would get good grades and dream of my future happiness. I was so excited to get into this area and make good money. Then start buying all the things my high paying job could provide.

After a year of school I immediately started working in the HVAC field. While overall I performed my job well. I began to sense something. I sensed that this would quickly become an ordinary job for me. I wasn't all fired up to do this line of work. Of course how would I have know this ahead of time. Sometimes you just have to experience something 100 percent to know.

Also I go the big picture of what it takes to make great money in this field. When I compared this new found picture of this field with my personality, I started to go into questioning mode.

This time I realized my former experience with researching a career was flawed in how I approached it. Instead of looking out in the world and studying what everyone else is doing, I should have looked inside of myself first and foremost.

So after considering a number of Personality and Aptitude tests - I felt disappointed. For it seemed that so many of the most popular tests lacked something special.
