Discrimination - The First Law of Success
Author: Oscar Bruce
As the author of personal development publications distributed world wide, I am frequently asked why certain people seem to succeed at practically everything they attempt. This is probably the most asked question I receive. My response is "I definitely can tell you, but you're really not going to like the answer¡¦. But here it is.
Your future is going to be exactly like your past unless you make major changes. Changes in the way you verbalize and socialize.
I'm going to share the primary dynamic that can provide the best that life has to offer for you. You must become a word specialist. Someone who can paint beautiful pictures with an invisible brush of magical words. A skilled verbal artist give purpose and direction to his dialog. He or she has a specific outcome in mind before they speak. His conversation is both persuasive and compelling.
Another fact you probably won't like. To become a skilled verbal artist will possibly require dropping current friends and searching for new ones. Why you ask, should I be so discriminating. It's because of a process defined as language transfer. In other words, "what the ear hears the mouth repeats."
Your mind is like a giant sponge that soaks up everything it hears. If the language you hear is mundane, trivial and loaded with meaningless cliches, soon that¡¯s the way you are speaking. In short.. you absorb the language of the people with whom you frequently associate. Of their speech habits are poor, so will yours be. Their poor language will drag you down.
Certain words will hamper and depress your thinking. They subconsciously affect your mind and attitude through a process defined Psycho-Semantics. Yes, words can form a insurmountable barrier to the attainment of a winning attitude. They have a detrimental influence on your imagination, your vision and your expectations for the future.
On the other hand through the process of Psycho-Semantics there are also certain words and phrases that will be uplifting and tend to expand the minds perception and vision. Select words and phrases that helps the mind to see opportunities previously overlooked.
You don't see eagles hanging out with sparrows do you? After all, gutter language wouldn't work well in the office of your companies C.E.O. After all, "if you want to hang with the natives, you'd better speak the native tongue. Within that simple sentence lies the reason that "discrimination is the first law of success." Chose your friends and associate carefully. DISCRIMINATE SAVAGELY.
